Got an idea? Share it with us!

We're looking for your ideas on how we can improve student lives. Whether it's a small change that you think will make campus life easier, or a big policy idea that will influence the future of the University, we want to hear from you.

Submit your idea on our ideas module below and let your fellow students decide which are taken forward.

To submit your idea, click ‘new idea’ and fill in the form on the next page.

You can also vote now on ideas that your fellow students have submitted.

If you have any questions, you can email ausareps@abdn.ac.uk.

What will we do with your ideas?

Each month, we'll take the most popular ideas and our Elected Student Officers will consider how they can be implemented.

If you're idea is for the establishment of a policy, we'll take it to our Student Council for them to deliberate on.

    modernising exams

Modernising exams to be inline with the information age we live . Not necessarily open book but the reliance on memory disadvantages several types of students, particularly the neurodivergant, mature students among others. There will never be a situation where you are not able to look up information, so why make exams in this way?

9:33pm on 24 Mar 25 Thanks for this suggestion, which makes some excellent points. One of the few silver linings of the pandemic was the increase in more authentic or inclusive forms of assessment that it brought about. We both need to prevent this progress from being lost now that we have transitioned out of the pandemic, and push for these modes to be implemented more widely. I continue to raise this at school level – through teaching reviews – and at university level, both in conversations with the Vice Principal for Education/the Education Deans and through the University’s education-related committees and groups. I will continue to take this forward, and any concrete updates will be provided through the SU-GGESTIONS “You Said, We Did” pages as they come into effect. – Miles, VP for Education
