What happens to my suggestion?

All suggestions that reach 10 votes or more, will receive a written response from the officer page, outlining how we will respond or are already responding to the SU-ggestion, or what factors mean we might not be able to implement the suggestion.

If your idea relates to the establishment of a policy and reaches 30 votes or more, it will be considered for a debate at our Student Council.

Funding and Support for “Non-Sport” Societies

    Current
    • Sports and Societies
There should be more consideration to meetings and overall in the univeristy for any other society that isn’t sports. I believe that it was dismissive that we weren’t featured in the agenda, and I believe there should be more support and inclusivity. For example, the LLMVC department has suffered tremendously this past year or two - where is their consideration, or the societies that represent and engage with the LLMVC department?!?! We were encouraged to come to the meeting and yet we were not discussed or registered, so I believe that we deserve a platform in these agendas just as much as the more “prestigious” sports societies.

10:39am on 10 Apr 25 Unfortunately due to the way sport has been handled by the university in the past 10+ years, especially regarding facilities, has lead to the focus of my time in office to be on sports. If sports was not reviewed holistically it would cease to exist in the next few years. The next VP for Activities is only involved in societies so will most likely be more focussed on them. // Tõnis, VP for Activities
