A home for all carvers, turners, carpenters, and makers at Aberdeen University.

So if you're a lifelong crafter or just keen to learn, this is the place!

We are the Aberdeen University Woodworking Society. We are a group of students who love woodcraft in all its many forms, and are passionate about bringing this to the wider student body.
As a society we organise weekly workshop meetings for you to get involved in group activities or just come along and do your own thing in a friendly and encouraging environment. In addition to this we organise non-workshop socials (some woodworking themed others not). We are still a new society, so suggestions for events are very welcome! If there is something you are desperate to do in the woodworking world, this is your chance to get involved.

Here you'll become part of a diverse community of crafters, with experience ranging from wood turning, character carving, spoon carving and tool restoration. You'll have the opportunity to get involved even if you have no tools or previous experience, something which is otherwise difficult for many students.
Unlike most other woodworking groups across the country, we are comprised of young people (a demographic that is hard to find within the woodworking world) making this a fantastic opportunity for you to meet other young makers!

Put simply, your membership will pay for tools for the society. This means that with your membership the society will purchase tools for both you and future generations to use! Almost all money for the society will be used to buy lasting tools for the society rather than consumables.
