'The study of the human race, its culture and society, and its physical development' - Cambridge Dictionary.
There is a place for Anthropology in all disciplines and ways of thought. The Anthropology Society provides a safe space and learning opportunities to students from all schools and walks of life. We focus on education, inclusion, and philanthropy. We organize talks with our lecturers, guest lecturers, and our PhD students to provide insight into their studies, and look to collaborate and workshop inter-disciplinary discussions too. We hangout regularly with society-led nights out, pub quizzes, and coffeeshop catch-ups; to build community and deepen understandings with people who may be very different from yourself. We work with local non-profits to help provide bakes at cakesales for charitable goals as well as always providing a way to get involved.
For students of Anthropology we act as an academic liason between the student body and the department. We take feedback surveys and discuss plans or issues with the staff directly. We're currently looking into providing faculty intership for undergrad students looking to understand the life of an academic anthropologist, and we're always keeping an eye out for local work experience. With our funding, you can reach out to us and we can help cover the costs of any textbooks you may need, so you can get on with your studies without breaking the bank.
