The Aberdeen University Commercial Law Society is the first law society at the University of Aberdeen entirely focused on careers in the commercial world. We are unique, as membership is open to any student of all disciplines- since nearly half of all training contracts are given to applicants that did not study law.
We aim to improve students' commercial awareness and give them the best guidance for their future careers. Our mentorship team provides the opportunity for an invaluable mentoring programme with our partnered leading Scottish law firm, Brodies LLP.
At the same time, our careers and commercial awareness officers develop your application skillset. They organise events in collaboration with top lawyers on key issues, such as training contracts and vacation scheme preparation, and bring you topics that build your understanding of commercial law, and its place in the world.
We also inaugurated the UK Supreme Court Commercial Law Moot Competition, with sponsoring commercial firm Pinsent Masons LLP. This allows any and all keen commercial litigators to improve their graduate employment prospects by potentially litigating in front of a UK Supreme Court judge!
