Involved in an Accident, Incident or Near-miss

In the event of an accident, incident or near-miss whilst engaged in Student Activity training session, fixture, event/trip or social please complete the Activity Accident, Incident and Near-Miss Reporting Form.  This can be whether the injured party is a Committee Member, Activity Member, Coach or someone just visiting.

This form should be submitted within 48 hours of the incident - please do not delay submitting the report because you want to make sure that you have gathered all the facts surrounding the accident. If any additional information is identified later the form can be updated, or the information can be e-mailed to Students' Union Sports Office on fixtures@abdn.ac.uk.

For reference:

  • An ACCIDENT is an unexpected event that HAS resulted in damage, personal injury, illness, or death.
  • An INCIDENT is an unexpected event that did NOT result in damage, and there was no personal injury, illness, or death.
  • A NEAR-MISS is an unexpected event that COULD have resulted in damage, personal injury, illness, or death had circumstances been slightly different.

Serious accidents, at any UoA Campus Site or Aberdeen Sports Village should be reported immediately to University of Aberdeen Security by phoning 01224 273894 or 273896) or as an online report As a rule of thumb, an accident is "serious" if the injured person has gone to hospital as a result of the accident.

This form should be completed even if you have completed an Aberdeen Sports Village or Third-Party Accident Form.

This form should be completed even if you have reported the accident to UoA Security
