I have a voice and I am marketable.
Introduction
My name is Obabori Stephen, a postgraduate Student of Renewable Energy Engineering. One who believes that we start dying when we stop learning. We should learn to add value to ourselves everyday because we are all here for a better today and tomorrow.
I believe we deserve satisfaction after graduating from our various discipline having survived the destabilizing effect of the high cost of living. The sacrifice shouldn't be for nothing
Our hard works starts from the motivation in learning the basics from undergraduates to advanced learning.
We cannot be motivated if the learning institute, policy and environment is not adaptable and friendly to our common course.
I have seen a lot of gaps and I am here to work with you to fix it. You deserve more.
What are your three priorities for the year?
- Review of Student Academic Experience
- Review of Industry requirement
- Move for implementation of Findings
What unique skill/knowledge can you bring to the role to stand out from the other candidates?
I am detailed oriented with problem solving skill. My voice has been transformed as a skill.
There is an usual saying that says that if education is expensive, then try ignorance. To be where you are today shows resilience and perseverance while striving against all odds. Making it this far despite the expense as a student shows we all deserve a trophy. I am ready to work with students to identify gaps and fill them.
What do you think is the biggest issue that students are facing at the moment and how do you plan to tackle it?
Marketability!!! How marketable are we? Does industry specially source for our students? What is our value in the labour market and communities? We need to make the best out of the opportunity we have got today which is being marketable and useful in solving societal problems. We can only be useful when we have it right from the classroom. Its starts from the teaching method being aligned with industry best practice. We need to start now and make the best use of our time. I have a voice and I will speak
