Vote for hope. Vote for your future.

Introduction

My name is Samira and I am a PhD student at the University of Aberdeen. During my education, I utterly saw that students may face many challenges so my biggest aim in this position is to listen to the student's concerns and voices first, after that try to be a positive person who is making a better situation for the student's needs. Additionally, I was a leader in my previous job experiences so I know well how to manage, lead, and supervised teams. Just trust me.

What are your three priorities for the year?

  • Supporting and helping students to find their goals based on their abilities.
  • Encouraging all students to be more active and learn them how to find jobs based on their major and work interests.
  • Extending the teams and services for students in the university.

What unique skill/knowledge can you bring to the role to stand out from the other candidates?

Being more kind and also available to be like a bridge between students and university.

What do you think is the biggest issue that students are facing at the moment and how do you plan to tackle it?

In my opinion, students nowadays face numerous social problems(Mostly international students) which can be communication challenges, depression, culture shocks and etc. My plan is to have some programs for helping new students to join with other old students. The other challenges would be finding a proper job with a good salary and making a good community with other friends. The other common challenge is financial matters. My plan can be summarized as helping them how to create a budget and manage their finance well.

There are many other challenges that we can discuss with it in the future.
